Contexte et environnement
This role is supports TotalEnergies Petrochemicals & Refining USA, Inc. – Port Arthur Refinery and is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a wide range of rotating equipment in a petrochemical/refinery environment.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and repair rotating equipment, including:
Centrifugal and reciprocating pumps
All types of compressors
Steam turbines
Diaphragm pumps
Unit fans (fin fans and cooling towers)
Gearboxes, mixers, chain‑drive units, and mechanical seals
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities
Research materials and equipment needed to complete job assignments
Complete job documentation, reports, and project modifications
Work with vendors and contractors to support maintenance and repair activities
Follow all safe work practices and refinery procedures
Perform work requiring climbing, lifting, and manual labor
Support equipment reliability through inspections and troubleshooting

What You Bring
Basic math and mechanical principles
Lubrication systems and fluids
Bearings, seals, gaskets, metallurgy, piping, rigging, balancing, torquing, couplings, and fasteners
Alignment techniques (laser and reverse dial)
Use of hand tools, burning torch, and precision equipment
Experience with:
Centrifugal and reciprocating pumps and compressors
Turbines, gearboxes, fans, blowers, mixers, electric motors, and chain drives
Proficiency with shop equipment such as:
Lathe, drill press, key seater, balancing machine, and hydraulic press
Understanding of refinery or industrial processes
Experience using Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, and SAP
Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
Stable work history and dependable attendance
Willingness to work overtime and respond to call‑outs as needed
Team‑oriented with strong communication skills
Computer literate with the ability to complete electronic documentation
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics
Physically capable of climbing and lifting as required
Profil du candidat
High School Diploma with 5+ years of experience in petrochemical or comparable industrial environments as a machinist, millwright, or mechanic
OR
Two‑year Industrial Mechanics degree (or equivalent) with 2+ years of relevant mechanical experience
