Based in Nairobi or our Cape Town office, Maersk Africa Regional Ocean management team is looking for a tech savvy, experimental, innovative, and commercially driven candidate to take up the new and exciting role of Revenue Manager (Pricing & Uptake) with accountability for the East Africa Export market. Reporting to the head of east Africa export market, this is indeed an exciting opportunity to be part of a multicultural Africa Regional Ocean Management team, drive our integrator ambition by supporting the needs our customers that use Maersk Spot and Twill by Maersk - freight forwarders and small and medium enterprises respectively. As a Revenue Manager, you will own our short-term pricing, demand management and growth ambitions for these digital products in line with the respective strategies of our export markets into Asia, Middle East, Europe, and North America.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Revenue Manager, you will own our short-term pricing, demand management and growth ambitions for our ocean digital products in line with the respective strategies of our export markets into Asia, Middle East, Europe, and North America. We would count on you to drive our export performance ambitions and work cross functionally and along with our export Market Managers to eliminate risks in our quest to deliver the best-in-class end to end logistics solutions to our customers.

Short term Pricing Management and effectiveness
Drive and influence the stability of our Ocean performance by ensuring targeted export volume, Market share and revenue are being delivered in line with East Africa Area Business Plan and digitization ambitions.

Own the pricing and revenue management effectiveness outcomes, logistics and services product attachments to our digital products, lead innovative tests and experimentation based on revenue management data & tools

Drive corrective actions along with the commercial organization and cross-functional stakeholders as needed to address volume and revenue shortfall

Short term Volume and Demand Management
Manage uptake and demand through our digital channels leaning on available data & tools to optimize utilization of our assets and profitability

Drive cross-functional collaboration to mitigate operational risks (capacity, equipment, network) that can hinder volume delivery and customer commitments

Overall Market, Product Development and Strategy
Provide input on market growth, trends, and intelligence to inform market strategy and yearly volume and revenue budget setting

Provide input on product development and features (Ocean network and products)

Translate overall Market strategy and ambitions into actionable direction setting for the commercial organization

Play an active role through projects and initiatives when it comes to logistics and services development for key customer segments/verticals

Who we are looking for:
3-5 years high impact experience within a fast paced and multicultural environment

Tech/digital savvy, experimental, innovative, and commercially driven

Revenue management, product management, experimentation and data driven industry experience would be an advantage

Strategic, collaborative, analytical and innovative mindset

Strong stakeholder management, influence without authority and conflict resolution

Competitive landscape knowledge (would be nice to have but not mandatory)

Effective communication skills, managing and collaborating with potentially virtual and diverse global teams

Performance management and reporting experience based on analytical data, trends, and logic

Resilience, able to persist and adapt despite challenges

Open to local South African or Kenya residents
