Summary: The work schedule for this position is: Full Time 40hours per week.

Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (4 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Duties
The incumbent maintains landscaping as directed by the Group Leader and or the Maintenance Supervisor or the FM on USG controlled properties in Niamey, Niger.

1. Perform all forms of landscaping related work using proper tools, materials and procedures as directed by the corresponding maintenance supervisor or the FM. 70%

2. Inventory supplies and assist with ordering and purchasing of tools and materials as required. 5%

3. Plant seasonal flower arrangements and maintain the grounds to the highest possible standards as directed. 10%

4. Clean shop and work areas, maintain and make repairs to tools as required. Make routine checks for fire and safety hazards and report all discrepancies to the appropriate authority. 10%

5. Perform Pools Maintenance, cleaning, testing chemicals level and brushing the walls when there are algae. 5%

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: One year of landscaping experience is required.

JOB KNOWLEDGE: Must be knowledgeable in the care of plants, trees, flowers, shrubs, and grasses, planting cycles and the proper use of fertilizer, and of hand and power gardening equipment. This may be tested.

Education Requirements:
Successful completion of primary school is required (CFEPD).

Evaluations:

LANGUAGE: Mandatory: Must speak and comprehend to a level 2 French, (Hausa or Zarma), and understand basic English. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to make minor on the spot repairs to tools and equipment.
