Organizational Setting
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) contributes to the achievement of the 2030 Agenda through the FAO Strategic Framework by supporting the transformation to MORE efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agrifood systems, for better production, better nutrition, a better environment, and a better life, leaving no one behind.

Through its Country Offices, or FAO Representations, FAO assists governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to address hunger and malnutrition, and provides technical support for the sustainable development of their agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors. The activities of the FAO Country Offices include design and implementation of country-tailored field programmes, liaison with local donor representatives, and active public awareness-raising and outreach activities related to FAO initiatives such as the World Food Day.

Reporting Lines
The incumbent will report to the Head of Policy, Planning and Partnerships Section under the Programme and Technical Unit.

Technical Focus
Collaboration with development partners, especially resources partners for increasing resource mobilization.

Tasks and responsibilities

The incumbent will be required to undertake tasks as follows:
• Liaising and collaborating with development partners, including resources partners and partners involved in humanitarian response.
• Supporting the Country Office in mobilizing resources for CPF implementation, including for emergency responses and disaster risk management.
• Contributing to strategic partnership building with civil society organizations and the private sector.
• Advising the Country Office on strategies, policies, procedures and templates of relevant donor agencies.
• Collaborating with partners and fund liaison teams at FAO Sub-regional, Regional and HQ offices to ensure compliance of the country office with corporate policies and guidelines related to partnership building and resources mobilization.
• Performing any other relevant tasks assigned by the Section Head.

CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Requirements
• University degree in international law, business administration, international development, development economics, or another field relevant to the work of the Organization.
• Five years of relevant experience with fundraising/ resource mobilization, grant and contract negotiations and management related to resource mobilization, partnership, and contractual management with major donors, international financial institutions, or vertical funds.
• Working knowledge (proficient – level C) of English and limited knowledge (intermediate - level B) of another FAO language (French, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, or Russian). For PSA, working knowledge of English.

• Demonstrable skills and experience in managing relations and outreach with partners.

• Demonstrable experience in supporting emergency response and humanitarian assistance operations.
• Knowledge of FAO Project Cycle and Operational Systems will be an asset.
