ABOUT WFP
The World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization saving lives and changing lives, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. We are currently seeking to fill an intern position with Supply Chain Unit to be based in Maputo, Mozambique.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Currently enrolled and have attended University courses in the last 12 months inclusive of having completed at least two years of graduate studies or have recently graduated in the last 6 months in Information Management or Journalism, Statistics, Development/Humanitarian studies, Social Sciences,
or equivalent areas of studies.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
Knowledge of MS Publisher or similar tools will be an advantage.
Fluent in Portuguese and English.

JOB PURPOSE
Mozambique is a country vulnerable to adverse weather. Drought, cyclones, floods, and violence over the past years have left at least 2.5 million people in urgent need of humanitarian assistance across the country. A year on from Cyclone Idai and Kenneth, over 100,000 displaced people are still living in temporary sites across six provinces. In Cabo Delgado, thousands of people have been displaced by insecurity and are living in overcrowded conditions in host communities.

WFP’s country strategic plan (2022–2026) focuses on adding value to the national zero hunger agenda and prioritizes support for government programmes and institutions, while supporting long-term resilience and work to address the underlying causes of food insecurity and malnutrition.

To enforce the Country Office communication and reporting capacities, WFP SC requires support of a reporting assistant.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Under the direct supervision of Supply Chain Officer, NOC, the incumbent will perform the following duties:

General administrative and some specialized reporting and communications processes in support to the reporting content and the delivery of communications services aimed at maintaining and enhancing WFP Supply Chain visibility and reputation and supporting fundraising activities.
Collect, sort and disseminate correspondence, reports and other communication material to meet the required demands of staff to time standards.
Keep abreast with the operational developments and assist in the preparation of briefing notes and reports.
Assist in consolidation of data and facilitate the preparation of periodic reports including Sitreps, Fact Sheets and other activity specific reports.
Prepare and distribute meeting minutes.
Provide administrative assistance and support in routine services and activities within the unit.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather all relevant information.
Consolidate and provide supply chain inputs for donor reports.
Support the maintenance of office files, documents, and records in accordance with established systems and processes so that information is current and readily available for staff.
Undertake standard data entry tasks in accordance with defined systems, to ensure information is organized and readily available for the business team.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral).
Proactive attitude, shows initiative and has a sense of accountability.
Ability to work productively and in an organized fashion.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP of US$ 575 per month.
WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, necessary visas and related costs.
WFP will recognize candidates’ educational credentials from recognised institutions that have been certified by competent international or national authorities such as the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) or Ministries of Education;
