Organizational Setting
The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by an FAO Representative (FAOR) , is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner
This position is located within the FAO Representation in Kenya.
Reporting Lines
The Junior Operations Assistant will work under the overall supervision of the FAO Representative, the direct supervision of the Head of Operations and the functional guidance and supervision of Operations Assistants, the Junior Operations Assistant will perform the following functions
Technical Focus
Administrative procedures and policies with particular focus on travel and HR related requests.
Tasks and responsibilities
• Raise Travel Authorisations requests
• Process Travel Expenses claims
• Process MPESA payments related to workshops and field activities
• Initiate request for staffing actions for the recruitment of project personnel
• Raise travel POs (air tickets)
• Map project expenditures in FPMIS
• Perform other related duties and activities upon instructions received from the supervisor.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• University degree/Diploma in Economics, Project Management, Development studies or related fields
• 2 years of relevant experience in Agricultural Development, Operations, Project Cycle
• Working knowledge (level C) of English and Swahili
• National of Kenya
