Opportunité
Support the Head of the South Africa Export Market with the execution of the trade strategies. The role is responsible for the South Africa to Middle East and Far East trade routes. Make strategic decisions on short-term pricing and uptake management, including prioritization of customers, commodities & markets for optimal profitability. Set day to day pricing based on data & tools available, provide forecasting for decision making and manage performance for your scope.

Key Responsibilities:
Short term Market Intel
• Evaluates Market intel to set pricing (Sales and customer feedback, research on local market dynamics)
• Alignment on minimum rates across internal brands (if applicable to the trade)
• Market intelligence gathering and feeding back to Head of Export Market
Short Term Pricing Process
• Prices Tariff, FAK, Exceptions and Spot and takes final decision if needed
• Decides on rates basis data, tools and market intelligence available
• Ensure market relevant rates are available in relevant systems (penny, AFLS, globe) at all times
Utilization Management
• Manage uptake on vessel voyage basis, based on available data & tools
• Optimize booking acceptance to maximise vessel utilisation/profitability
• Provide input to RO/Center on network adjustments
• Coordinate allocation with capacity management (6-8 weeks out)
• Active Cargo Mixing (optimising available capacity – eg strategic customers or cargo/equipment type, vessel weight profile)
Who we are looking for:
- Minimum Bachelor degree with at least 5 years of experience in similar role
- You have a sound trade and revenue acumen
- Passionate about data, you thrive in an environment where you are able to develop statistical models and drive business automation
- Strong decisiveness, through execution and drive for results, including being comfortable with and willing to take calculated risks
- Anticipating and problem solving, you will have a flair for numbers, strong analytical skills and the energy to work systematically. You possess high learning agility and change mindset
- You are a great collaborator and team player who enjoy delivering business results together with others
