We are currently looking for an Automation Engineer to join our team in Tangier. Under guidance of the Terminal Automation Lead, this position provides technical skills in repairs and data acquisition and analysis works on all terminal equipment.
Responsibilities:
Reads, writes, understands, and performs modifications to existing PLC code, and drive parameters will at times need to create new project from scratch.
Maintains daily check and up-to-date backup files for all drive parameters of all terminal automated systems.
Ensure periodic cleaning and wiring check of all drive inverters.
Calibrates, adjusts, troubleshoots, installs, and maintains functionality of electronic devices such as transmitters, load cells systems and sensors, PLC modules, inverters and drives components, to ensure proper operation.
Recommendations, and implement for renewal and updates to PLC equipment.
Program, installs, repair and maintains existing tracking devices such as, GPS antennas and positioning controllers.
Perform PM/CM interventions and submit monitoring reports by ensuring accurate and updated information filed in IFS.
Project management and follow-up with stockholders.
Maintains a rotating 24-hour on-call status for emergencies as scheduled. May work a varying schedule and/or shift. May be required to work overtime.
May serve in acting capacity.
Ensure SOPs, draw in confluence and improve through process confirmation RCA and feedbacks.
Requirements:
Engineer diploma, additional vocational/technical education – diploma in Automation and electronics. (Any additional training in PLC/ Drive inverters/ Electrical fields in any heavy industries is a plus).
Freshly graduated from engineering school (0 to 1 year experience in an industrial machinery environment is a plus).
Knowledge of PLCs, drive inverters, repair of electronic and electrical control systems.
Knowledge in programming Siemens PLCs, i.e. S7-300, S7-400 (Step 7 and Tia portal) is a must.
Experience in parametrizing drive inverters is a must.
Knowledge of PLC-Inverters communication protocols and data exchange.
Skill with computers and applicable software.
Skill in Microsoft Office.
Skill in time management and professionally managing discretionary time.
Skill in operating standard and special electronics testing equipment.
Skill in troubleshooting problems with field instrumentation and PLC hardware including communications and input and output modules/cards.
Skill in making modification to existing drive parameters and hardware configuration.
Skill in setting up communication via industrial Ethernet, Probfibus, ASI, and all related communication protocols with the PLC.
Ability to identify problems, recommend solutions, and use initiative to implement them.
Ability to save all necessary software files that are pertinent to the PLC and inverters functionality.
Ability to analyze and solve problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations.
Requires provisional verbal and written communications skills in English
Ability to manage time and projects.
