A.P. Maersk Benin is looking for a Collector Trainee in Cotonou. This position would involve being in charge of accounts receivables and responsible for ensuring timely: customers account reconciliation, payment application follow-up and monitoring collection strategies.

Main Responsibilities:
Receive and handle customer requests about statement of account and reconciliation exercises.

Coordinate with GSC customer account reconciliation in SAP

Accountable for customers cheques issuance

Perform key clients, credit customers and ICP customers payment application

Handle payment application correction and follow-up

Support bank/GSC collectors for collection issues resolution

Ensure that collection control activities are properly executed

Ensure freight and D&D collections are appropriately materialized in Liner bank accounts

Attend to customers visits & complaints / follow up customer disputes with CX Team

Actively participate to collection process improvement

Handle ad hoc tasks as and when required

Key Requirements:
Finance background and experience (minimum Bachelor degree + proven working experience or internship).

Good command of English and French.

Good Analytical Skills.

Logistic knowledge is preferred.

Knowledge of Maersk upstream and downstream systems (GCSS, SAP, etc…)

Knowledge of Credit and Collections processes

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Commercial acumen to understand and challenge numbers based on business agenda

Ability to handle challenges and to work under pressure

Familiar with MS Office programs: excel, power point.
