OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
The group's broad objectives are to a) promote immunization, maternal and child health and other priority set by the IAG, addressing misinformation as local initiatives; b) change the perceptions of the local communities in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and other predominantly Islamic countries; c) help gain community confidence to increase access; and d) help secure greater financial, political and religious support from Islamic countries and organizations.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1. Manage the development and validation of IAG media and communications strategy work plan to ensure compliance with the Regional strategies and IAG guidelines.2. Organize interviews and filming opportunities to increase the visibility of the role of partners through IAG's publications, media communications and online platforms3. Develop and edit publication material related to the IAG to promote achievements and success stories.4. Prepare responses to relevant websites and social media products to address misinformation and highlight role of IAG.5. Develop and produce relevant messages; media talking points; press releases; position statements; Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material and organize related media events for PEI and expanded mandate.6. Monitor and analyze the news, coverage and updates of the region's mainstream media and prepare reports.7. Prepare communication and advocacy products and statements to be used in convincing potential donors to help mobilize resources and implement projects of the IAG.8. Develop performance indicators that can monitor the impact of information and communications products and activities
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Essential: University degree in communication, journalism, social sciences, international relations or Liberal Arts
Desirable: Postgraduate studies on communications methods
Experience
Essential: At least five years' relevant experience as a journalist or in a media organization or in an organization involved in information and communications projects related to humanitarian crises and response relief.
Desirable: Experience in implementing media and communications projects
Skills
Ability to “think out of the box” and to make innovative proposals as related to communication Proven skills to work on media and communication strategy and action plan Excellent interpersonal skills complemented by the ability to conceptualize ideas and advocate consensus. High ability to develop messages, media talk, IEC material Proven skills to design and edit publication materials

REMUNERATION
Remuneration comprises an annual base salary starting at EGP 673,509 (subject to mandatory deductions for pension contributions and health insurance, as applicable) and 30 days of annual leave.
