Reporting to the Liberia Country Managing Director, the Sierra Leone Country Managing Director role is critical for the design and delivery of the Country and Area Business Plans, delivery of the commercial performance, safeguarding of the Maersk name and the successful roll-out of the integrator strategy within the country. The role requires strong commercial and people leadership qualities (with and without authority) along with an entrepreneurial mindset to drive growth and profitability for the Country. The role is the face of Maersk externally and internally and has full responsibility for stakeholder engagement and management. The role also drives country focus on safety, employee engagement and customer centricity. You will be part of a new build African team as desire to deliver best in class service, effective communication, cost awareness and continuous performance which supports our growth aspirations and the success of our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Co-create (along with Area) and own the commercial strategy in the country.
• Coach and support the country team to achieve our integrator ambition. Foster cross functional collaboration at country level.
• Suggest and own all investment projects within the country collaborating with all functions as required.
• Responsible for Business Development at country level in line with Area Business Pan.
• Administratively responsible for all business units within the country. Involve functional leaders to support as and when required.
• Lead the organization ensuring all commercial targets are met in alignment and in collaboration with Area Vertical Leads. Take part in joint sales calls with strategic customers under different verticals as and when required.
• Assist functional managers, including but not limited to CX, Financial and Operational (OCL) in achieving functional targets by providing support at country level as and when required.
• Continually manage key stakeholders and customers relations as well as cost and efficiency improvements in the Country.
• Represent Maersk with all relevant external stakeholders and proactively manage all stakeholder relationships.
• Actively monitor and drive NPS across segments and drive local improvement to enhance customer satisfaction in collaboration with functional leaders.
• Coach team for success and development.
• Own and foster high team engagement.
• Promote the wellness of staff and implementing policies in line with labor legislation and health and safety guidelines to create a diverse and positive working environment.

• A track record of delivering results through teams around clear objectives aligned with the business strategy across functions
• High decision-making skills in ambiguous circumstances
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset.
