To enable UNICEF to deliver programmatic results for children, the organization needs to maximize income potential from the Private Sector. Latin America is a fast-growing region with high fundraising expectations. Unlocking the full potential of digital is key to realizing growth of Individuals fundraising in the region.

How can you make a difference?

The main purpose of this assignment is to enhance digital acquisition and retention through digital channels, thereby increasing UNICEF revenue in Latin America. To achieve these results, the professional will support the digital teams from the regional markets to improve their digital fundraising activities and maximize revenue results, providing additional capacity and capability.

Specific Tasks:

For Frontier/Emerging Markets:

For 2023, acquire 1060 Pledge donors through direct conversions in the GGP and 3740 Pledge donors through digital lead strategies, which later convert via Telemarketing campaigns in the 6 Frontier Market countries.
Implement the GGPx (Global Giving Platform) in the 6 Frontier Markets, receiving traffic from always-on campaigns active on:
Google Ads (Search, P-max, YouTube, etc.)
Meta Ads (Facebook, Instagram)
Comms Sites
Support and implement emergency fundraising campaigns, coordinating markets to be first movers in the region. For markets not currently fundraising, set up SEM and remarketing campaigns.
Lead the digital agencies of Frontier Markets to manage the digital advertising budget in each country and control the Cost Per Acquisition and ROAS of each digital campaign.
Support the digital acquisition strategy and implementation during the Telethons in each country.
Implement a single automation tool that covers digital communication for Donors and Leads.
Coordinate new releases of features in the GGPx instance of Frontier Markets.
Guarantee end-to-end testing of the GGPx instance in Frontier Markets to ensure a donation process without technical issues for users and internal teams in UNICEF.
For LAC’s Markets:

For 2023, support Peru in acquiring 1320 Pledge donors through direct conversions and 2783 Pledge donors through digital lead strategies, which later convert via Telemarketing campaigns.
For 2023, support Mexico in acquiring 3141 Pledge donors through direct conversions and 4873 Pledge donors through digital lead strategies, which later convert via Telemarketing campaigns.
Reduce the Lead-conversion dependency in Frontier Markets, Peru, and Mexico, increasing direct conversion campaigns to an overall participation of 35% in 2023.
Guarantee end-to-end testing of the GGPx instance in Peru and Mexico to ensure a donation process without technical issues for users and internal teams in UNICEF.
Support current digital fundraising activities in Latin America.
Share best practices between markets: campaigns, content, emailing process, lead generation, and lead nurturing activities.
Expected Results:

Increase digital fundraising acquisition of Pledge Donors by 73% in Frontier Markets, from 2775 in 2022 to 4800 in 2023.
Increase digital fundraising acquisition of Pledge Donors by 102% in Peru, from 2034 in 2022 to 4103 in 2023.
Increase digital fundraising acquisition of Pledge Donors by 93% in Mexico, from 4150 in 2022 to 8014 in 2023.
Implement one Automation Tool in Frontier Markets that cover services for Thank You emails, Abandoned Carts, Journeys, and Retention flows.
Reduce the Lead-conversion dependency in Frontier Markets, Peru, and Mexico, increasing direct conversion campaigns to an overall participation of 35% in 2023.
Increase digital participation in the yearly regional revenue of Frontier Markets, Peru, and Mexico, having a higher growth rate than the traditional channels like F2F and Telemarketing.
Provide the required support to digital teams in the region and assist in implementing digital plans in markets.
Optimize and test websites, forms, and tools like the Global Giving Platform.
Improve digital fundraising performance in LAC's Markets, especially in Pledge donors in Ecuador with 17% YoY growth, Peru with 102%, and Uruguay with 20%.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

Education: A first level university Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Digital Fundraising, or other relevant fields is required. Any other additional training in a related field is an asset.
Work Experience: 6 years of progressively responsible work experience in digital marketing or digital fundraising areas, with specific focus on areas such as digital acquisition, cultivation and retention of pledge donors, integrated media planning, and marketing communications and multi-channel campaign management. It would be an advantage if the person had gained the above experience in both agency and charity environments.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish and English is required. Knowledge of Portuguese will be considered an asset.
Technical Knowledge: Specific digital media knowledge, analytics and tracking, A/B testing, SEO, proficiency in the use of search engine algorithms, coding, content management systems, search engine marketing (SEM), online paid media, web and donation forms development, UX, CRM, CRO, e-mail broadcasting tools & marketing automation tools. HTML experience recommended.
Other Skills: Strong analytical skills and problem-solving mind oriented. Experience training and upskilling teams.
Excellent communication skills, (both written and oral) to translate complicated business requirements into technical based language, and vice versa.

Administrative Details: 

Supervision: The consultant will work under the direct supervision of the Individual Giving Manager LACRO

Workplace: Home-Based

In case travel is needed will be covered by UNICEF as per policy.

Travel costs will be estimated and added to the contract once they are determined based on UNICEF Financial Rules and Regulations.
For agreed country visits, the contractor/consultant will be responsible in administering their own travel. UNICEF will reimburse travel related expenses based on actual costs or on the below criteria whichever is lower and upon presentation of receipts.
Any travel involved should be budgeted according to UN Travel Standards as a ceiling.

For information on Daily Subsistence Allowance (DSA), can be found on the International Civil Service Commission website (all countries and destinations can be found by navigating on the map).
How to Apply? Application should be submitted online and should include: Resume, Cover Letter, University Diploma and Financial proposal. Qualified candidates are requested to submit monthly or daily fees in their financial proposal.

Payment of professional fees will be based on submission of agreed deliverables. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment in case the deliverables submitted are not up to the required standard or in case of delays in submitting the deliverables on the part of the consultant.

Duration of contract: Estimated start date of this consultancy is the end of June 2023 for a period of 11.5 months.

Insurance: The selected consultant must demonstrate a proof of medical insurance prior to the beginning of the consultancy and must be valid for the entire duration of the contract. In duty stations where UNICEF provides medical evacuation, the medical insurance that the contractor holds should include provisions for medical evacuation.

The selected candidate is solely responsible to ensure that the visa (applicable) and health insurance required to perform the duties of the contract are valid for the entire period of the contract. Selected candidates are subject to confirmation of fully-vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the assignment.
