Technical Input

Coordinate the implementation of the WV Rwanda Education in Emergency project, including identifying ongoing priority areas.
Provide weekly, monthly, semi-annual, and annual reports
Ensure that sector budgets are aligned with project designs and DIPs.
Support ECD caregivers and liaise with them to report children’s attendance on a daily basis
Distribute scholastic materials and uniforms to children in school
follow up on school dropouts and encourage them to resume school
Support teachers with necessary capacity building through training and provide materials e.g didactic materials
Conduct sensitization meetings for students and parents on the importance of education
Liaise with the District and other local education authorities to ensure quality in the delivery of services.
Monitor/supervise and provide pedagogical support to teachers
Proper planning and efficient implementation of education activities.

Timely performance plans and adequate resource utilization are done

Timely arrangement of all necessary logistics and provision of project deliverables for education activities including workshops and training

Strong network with partners, donors, and local government authorities

School feeding Facilitation

Provide support to school feeding of ECD, Primary and secondary school children
Ensure timely transfers of money for feeding students in primary and secondary school.
Liaise with school head teachers and ECD caregivers to ensure refugee children get food and provide reports on school feeding issues on a daily basis with suggestions on how to mitigate those issues
Improved students’ enrollment in schools for the most vulnerable refugee students

Improved academic performance and children’s well being

Child protection

Liaise with other child protection partners in the camp to prevent, mitigate and respond to children’s risks
Do regular reporting on the progress of psychosocial and child protection support services
Participate in child protection (CP) meetings
Children are protected from all forms of abuse, exploitation, and neglect

Special needs

Liaise with ECD caregivers, Headteachers of Primary and Secondary schools to identify children with special needs
Report cases of children with special needs as they arise and support them to enroll in education
Link children with special needs with other partners such as Handicap International and ensure they get equal education services
Perform any other activity as requested by the immediate Supervisor

Inclusive education is provided to all children

Knowledge/Qualifications for the Role

Required Professional Experience

A good understanding of the humanitarian and emergency sector;
Strong experience with 3 years in education projects.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
Must be willing to spend long hours in the field;
emonstrate problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in a multi-culture setting.
Other NGO experience will be also an asset;
Must be a mature Christian, with people skills and committed to socio-economic and psycho-spiritual development;
Must be Rwandan by nationality;
