As a programme leader within the technology operations function, you will be a core member of the technology operations leadership team accountable for leading the transformation programme on our journey to become operationally excellent. You will be exposed to a wide and challenging range of needs and opportunities requiring you to engage closely with globally distributed teams and senior stakeholders across all levels within APMT and AP Moller Maersk as you define and orchestrate the roadmap of initiatives.
The Brief
A globally focused shipping, logistics and transportation organisation is continuing to drive an ambitious and complex transformation to deliver a service of excellence for its customers and clients worldwide. The Maersk Global CTIO has a mandate from the board to lead the Technology transformation enabling the strategy to become the global integrator of container logistics through digitising the Maersk business processes and customer engagement. A key pillar to this strategy is enabled through the modernisation and transformation of the Terminal business operated by APM Terminals.
APM Terminals technology is fundamental to enable APMT’s transformation and in response to this demand, our in-house technological capability is growing exponentially. We are recruiting world class talent to ensure that APM Terminals technology services are modernised to enable growth underpinning the wider Maersk strategy to become the global integrator of container logistics integrator leveraging a competitive advantage through technology.
Technology Operations is a centralised function offering technology support, service management, observability of our technology performance and operational excellence initiatives to the local terminals, regional, and global platform teams. The role of Technology Operations, and the demand for its services has grown rapidly over the last couple of years and to meet the future demand, an uplift of both the scale and maturity of its services is required. This requires the orchestration of multiple initiatives, each with independent roadmaps and velocities.
Reporting directly to the Head of Technology Operations at APM Terminals, the Programme Leader will assume a pivotal role critical to the realization of APM Terminals' strategic technology roadmap. This role will drive a transformative shift towards elevated levels of maturity, modernization, and standardization within our technology operations — an essential enabler of APM Terminals' overarching growth strategy.
The Programme Lead is tasked with instilling clarity and structure across the various independent deliverables within each technology operations function. Collectively, these endeavours will deliver a substantial boost in maturity, acting as a catalyst for the centralization of technology support. This role involves formulating and stewarding the roadmap, ensuring continuous visibility into its component elements and the intricate web of dependencies that evolve alongside it. Meticulous structure and clear communication are the cornerstones of this role, assuring complete transparency of plans and offering key stakeholders transparency of progress and dependencies.

As the Programme Leader, you will be at the forefront of harmonizing transformation efforts, driving stakeholder collaboration, and contributing to APM Terminal's role as a key player in Maersk's container logistics strategy.
Immediate Focus areas
Define the multi-year roadmap in pursuit of the target end state on the journey from operational excellence initiatives, to becoming operationally excellent. Create the delivery schedule from the currently independent initiatives underway Implement a delivery operating model providing transparency of milestones whilst holding individuals and workstreams to account on their commitments
Preferred Experience
Seasoned Professional: Demonstrated history of success in leading transformative technology initiatives within distributed operations.
Change Management Expertise: Proven ability to drive and manage complex technological change across global teams.
Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and skilled in overcoming obstacles when resources or information are limited.
