TITLE: Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA) officer



ROLE PURPOSE

The Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA) Officer will support the development and delivery of learning solutions. Also, will provide essential support to the regional Humanitarian Leadership Academy (HLA) team in the delivery of initiatives. Will establish mechanisms to better support key tasks and keep up of project monitoring and delivery. This position relies on strong relationships with focus countries and RO operations, quality programming, and support services. In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.



To be successful, you will bring/have:



A minimum of a university degree on any relevant field and demonstrated qualifications in training methodologies, especially humanitarian courses.
Minimum of three years’ experience in humanitarian programs with international organizations. Experience on donor funded project implementation, set up of training events, experience on the use of technologies for capacity building and comfortable on virtual training arrangements. Experience in training, facilitation, and online learning.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including fluent written and spoken English and Spanish.
Good computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Willingness and ability to operate an ‘open door’ policy with regards to colleagues seeking immediate information and support.
A flexible approach to working, with the willingness to work outside office hours occasionally and to be away from home for up to two weeks at a time e.g. on residential training course.
Understanding of and commitment to humanitarian work and experience of working for a humanitarian/development focused NGO.

Excellent interpersonal skills with experience liaising with stakeholders and of working with people from a range of backgrounds and cultures.
