Opportunité
We are looking for a driven and experienced candidate to take up the role as Landside Transportation Manager - Hinterland, for Maersk in Mozambique. In this role you will be responsible for the successful execution of our landside intermodal business in Area/countries including Customs House Brokerage Execution. Planning and executing transportation, delivering lowest possible cost, while delivering on the customer promise and maximizing synergies for our empty flows. Support the commercial team in growing our landside business activities.

The ideal candidate has a strong experience within landside transportation and logistics across borders in general, strong stakeholder management skills, and an acumen for business development and growth.

Flexible location: Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe

Key responsibilities:
Ownership of Intermodal execution (full and empty) in the countries with an aim to optimize cost and deliver on the customer promise. Timely and On time Delivery!

Vendor onboarding and management, proactive support and end to end issue resolution*

Develop and execute cost savings plans together with Procurement and Product to deliver the most attractive cost profile while maintaining excellent standards of safety and reliability.

Build strong and collaborative relationships with both established and new suppliers*

Liaising and preparing transport plan with suppliers, including the identification of triangulation opportunities

Legal compliance related to Customs regulations and AEO obligations / ensuring vendors comply as applicable

Drive collaboration between cross functional teams between CX, Sales, Product and Procurement

Apply products direction setting

Identify process gaps and be actively involved in working on improvements to key processes to improve productivity and service levels for on time delivery and proactive notification to the customer

Responsible for landside finance spend and clear ownership of all finance processes related to Execution.

Improve the asset utilization of key transport modes including contracted rail and truck networks

Collaboration with Procurement department on category strategies

Responsible for building and developing a strong team. Communication around our purpose and vision, bringing it all together for the team so we understand our company direction, how we contribute and where to focus.

Creating networks outside the Area organisation and contribute to global iniitiaitives and best practices

Responsible for Vendor Management in scope with support from Vendor Management

Who we are Looking for:
7+ years in a role controlling large Landside operation (Containerised and un-containerised);

A market network (Customers/Suppliers);

Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and set focus/direction;

Strong analytical skills and financial acumen;

Very organized, proactive and dynamic

Ability to prioritise and multi task in a pressurized environment

Understanding of the local market

Proven leadership skills
