What does it take to be a Mechanical Inspector?
It is about knowing and understanding inspection techniques and industry regulations and standards. It is about being curious to find the root cause of corrosion and other inspection issues that might be found. It is about following up on inspection results with operations and maintenance to ensure all deficiencies and anomalies are addressed to ensure the ongoing safe operations of the Platform.

* Plan and conduct inspections of operating piping systems and equipment to monitor its integrity, predict failures, prevent unscheduled shutdowns, and extend equipment life.
* Coordinate and/or perform inspection activities relating to routine maintenance a new construction to assure the completed product complies with engineering drawings specifications, nationally recognized industry codes, and good construction practices.
* Develop, write, and maintain equipment files and computer programs which contain design data and drawings, documentation of work performed, repair history, corrosion history, and thickness trends, to comply with regulatory laws and industry practice and aid in determining mechanical integrity and ensuring reliability.
* Provide technical support to engineering by reviewing drawings, weld procedures, and construction practices to assure they comply with company engineering specifications and national fabrication codes.
* Provide inspection support to ensure compliance with State and Federal laws by establishing records, conducting inspections, and assisting audits by regulatory agencies such as Texas Railroad Commission, Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission, United States Coast Guard, EPA, and OSHA.
* Provide outside shop vender surveillance of new equipment construction and repair of damaged equipment to ensure compliance with codes and specifications.
* Participate in Availability Improvement Team to achieve targets as set forth by Refinery. This includes assisting in casual analyses, establishing availability critical equipment, and monitoring operating windows.
