It will be responsible to support the Network Infrastructure and Network deployment along with the respective end user devices of TM2-E.

About this opportunity:
The Network Implementation Engineer will integrate TM2-E team, specifically be a part of the TM2-E IT & Automation Team and will have a core role to support the implementation activities related to Networking. It will perform generically the infrastructure quality supervision, control of infrastructure progress, and execute other skillful networking activities such as switching, routing equipment configuration activities. While doing so it shall in coordination with his manager take ownership of the activities to him assigned.

All the network deployment activities shall be performed in liaison with the owner, activities such as support switching, routing and AP configuration, respective deployment on the various network levels, tracking of all network devices configuration, deployment status, backup’s, readiness status and others required for successful network and end user device connectivity and production readiness.

It will liaise, support to keep track of network field status and any field changes so may the development and/or update of design diagrams, schemas and/or other networking or infrastructure related documentation references are kept up to date. Therefore, the engineer will keep track of the infrastructure deployment, deliverables as described in the PER and further of the Network itself. Hence it will play a core role, essentially required to attain a quality, healthy and in the end resilient network infrastructure, respectively with the knowledge base deliverables, that sustain the business success.

In close coordination and communication with TM2-E IT and Automation Manager it will follow, supervise and report on sub-contractors’ execution on field to ensure the quality and unobtrusive operation certifying the quality of deployed services shall be attained and are capable of permanent service continuity and ease of maintenance. The activities may be directly or indirectly related to network such as the supervision of yard optical fibre infrastructure, electrical availability, electrical grounding quality, connectivity, labelling and further, such as the tracking of any dependencies required for the network deployment to proceed.

The Engineer is expected to team with the colleagues performing field tasks such as installation, connection, configuration, labelling and others such as maintenance, troubleshooting and/or network performance and improvement activities of the newly deployed network equipment. While doing so, it will be responsible to keep track of the status, documentation up to date reflecting both the design along with field execution tasks control.

While Project implementation and business operations run simultaneously the Network Engineer, will support the planning of change activities, keep watch, and maintain proactive network infrastructure and network equipment status in each deployment and/or change stage to network elements that may, most particularly, affect either the project and/or any business operation.

The Engineer will also participate on any required infrastructure and network related discussions, change activities planning, support and troubleshooting reviews, assist with activities lead by the IT and Automation Manager or network owner and in coordination with the remainder of project networking involved parties.

What you’ll be doing:
Supervise Network infrastructure deployment, progress, and quality.

Support Network Implementation deployment and all related wired and wireless communication infrastructure.

Provide technical supervision in field on infrastructure activities and keep good communication level with its manager and informed co-workers while taking ownership of field execution activities status and reporting.

Keep track and support the Network infrastructure, Network design and related to attain up to date documentation.

Deploy network equipment pre-build configurations, mount, install, connect, test, label IP switching, AP’s, etc.

Support and troubleshoot, correct, and optimize the deployed Network Equipment to field, while assuring all aspects have been taken care, including progress status and related Network documentation are kept up to date by reflecting the field execution.

Support, advise on network deployment activities, both in design and execution of network change activities, while collaborating with involved parties on required Network connectivity changes and add-ons.

Test, evaluate and inspect deployed network equipment and network related infrastructure and dependencies on status, performance, identify potential failures gaps, quality improvements or service enhancements. Work proactively while under its scope and aptitude towards fixing issue/problems/bugs or inconsistencies.

Proactively, communicate, report the technical activities while keeping up to date the deployment progress status and other project Network specific metrics.

Attend cross collaboration meetings, support, and coordinate the work activities related to networking.

Perform troubleshooting to failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency and network resilience.

Support the involved parties with the organization of activities, scheduled upgrades, changes, and other activities without deterring others from completing their own work.

Proactively engage with the user community to collect information about issues and identify leads through diagnostic procedures to identify root causes. Proactively resolve those under scope and aptitude or escalate and inform those that require further actions, authorization or supervision.

Execute network infrastructure, network and support system configuration and specification for deployment/commissioning of Project specific equipment with the team (STS’s, ARMGs, SHC, etc.).

Provide direct support when required and most particularly monitoring after changes have taken place.

Perform and execute all work under company procedures, policies, guidelines, and directives, including and not limited to:

Always adhere and maintain confidentiality of terminal work, activities and further as per APMT global policy. Work within the established Incident and Change management processes.

Execute the implementation of information security ensuring compliance from design to deployment of infrastructure, networks, communication systems and Business Application.

Execution of APMT Way of Work Policy by preparing Work instructions, Process and process confirmation related to his scope of work.

Prepare permits to work and support on booking area for works on site when applicable.

Prepare area, infrastructure equipment formal handover in liaison with involved parties and in

accordance to project established practices and procedures.

Technical Skills

Relevant experience with Cisco technologies is a must. Siemens’s experience is a plus.

Cisco certifications (such as CCNA, CCNP) or Siemens CIEN qualifications take preference.

Hence a thorough, in depth understanding and experienced implementation of applied networks technologies including and not limited to:

Common network protocols such as TCP/IP, and further proprietary LAN/WAN applicable proprietary protocols, proprietary equipment operating systems (particularly cisco and siemens brands), wireless networking protocols, ethernet, optical communication technologies respective practical implementation know-how, and other network technologies. Most particularly with Cisco and Siemens brands.

Must have thorough understanding of LAN/WAN and related server architecture for installation, administration, and troubleshooting.

Requires demonstrated ability and knowledge to troubleshoot a wide variety of infrastructure network and communication problems as they arise in the workplace.

Elementary Power and electricity know-how while it must have competences and experience for network infrastructure and network equipment and connectivity.

Hands-on experience with common OS, common software tools, networking tools and day-to-day computer and basic hardware usage.

Excellent analytical skills to be able to relate and analyze the requirements and configure the infrastructure to meet the objectives.

Understanding of Port Equipment, Automated systems and controls and related industrial infrastructures architecture could be an added advantage.

Proven ability to establish and maintain technical and process documentation for both project implementation phase and post implementation operations.

BSc/BA in computer science, computer engineering or relevant field experience, particularly:

Excellent analytical skills to be able to relate and analyze the requirements and configure the infrastructure to meet the business needs.

BSc/BA in computer science, computer engineering or extended field experience in Network infrastructure deployment, Network engineering deployment or similar relevant positions, with no less than 6/7 years’ experience.
