1.PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the Processing Maintenance Superintendent at Wahgnion (Niankorodougou), the Power Station Mechanical Coordinator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of the power station's mechanical systems. This includes planning, scheduling, and supervising the work of mechanical technicians, ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with safety procedures and company standards, and troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment.
The Processing Department is tasked with ensuring that the power station operates at optimal efficiency and effectiveness. The Power Station Section specifically focuses on the continuous and reliable supply of power, critical for the mining operations. It is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the mechanical and electrical systems that support the power generation process.
2. KEY RESPONSABILITIES
 Maximize power generation efficiency and uptime while minimizing fuel consumption and environmental impact, ensuring strict adherence to WGO's ESG policies.
 Oversee a team of supervisors, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to support their development.
 Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the long-term Life of the power station equipment
 Maintain safe work practices for all tasks undertaken.
 Maintain strong communication with Processing Operations to ensure smooth coordination during system restarts.
 Contribute to the development and monitoring of the departmental budget, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
 Conduct on-the-job training for mechanical staff.
 Oversee contractors on-site to ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
 Ensure all required parts are ordered and available on-site.
 Read and understand all associated operation and maintenance manuals.
 Be mindful of the social and environmental impact of the power station's operations and collaborate with local stakeholders where possible.
3. PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
 Provide coaching and mentoring to team members in all aspects of production and leadership development.
 Ensure all performance reviews are conducted.
 Develop overall plan for team to ensure skill development and succession plans.
 Responsible for performance of team and address performance issues.
 Develop an understanding of the cultural backgrounds of employees and how these cultures can be harmoniously integrated into the workplace.
 Foster an amicable and professional working relationship with all employees and contractors Maintain effective working relations on a continuous basis with internal and external stakeholders to improve the quality of service and operational performance.
 Manage shift time and attendance as per company policies and regulations as well as the Labour Act.

 Train all new employees with respect to procedures and standards as well as refresh subordinates on SOPs, policies and standards on a regular basis.
 Brief all subordinates on safety issues and all company related matters.
 Liaise with other sections to ensure that activities which require the assistance of other Wahgnion Gold Operation departments/sections are actioned.
 Provide positive motivation to all fellow team members to ensure an ongoing positive work environment at all times.
4. HEALTH & SAFETY
 Comply with WGO's established ESG policies, practices and Occupational Health and Safety Acts in the applicable jurisdiction.
 Visibly practice safety leadership through leading by example.
 Actively ensure a safe work area and environment for yourself, your peers.
 Promptly report and correct unsafe acts and conditions.
 Report any incident as required and ensure follow up with corrective actions.
 Ensure staff Complete the needed paperwork’s before commencing work.
 Support Safety Representatives in the field when doing work.
 Implement and promote workplace rules, safe work procedures and resolve employee workplace Safety issues.

 Comply with Wahgnion’ s Environmental and Social Performance Policies.
 Conduct work in a socially responsibly and ethical manner.
 Proactively protect the environment and safety of our employees and communities.
 Comply with all applicable environmental legislation in the jurisdiction we operate in order to adopt responsible environmental practices.
 Apply and promote WGO, national and international environmental standards in all activities related to processing operations.
6. POSITION HOLDER’S REQUIREMENTS
Education
Have at least a BAC + 5 / Industrial Maintenance or equivalent.
Languistics Skills
Excellent communication skills in French, with fluency in English.
IT skills
Proficient with MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Ms Project, Outlook, Teams, Sharepoint, Pronto)
Experiences et Qualifications
 At least 10 years of experience in a power plant or industrial setting as a mechanical engineer/Supervisor
 Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
 Proven experience in diesel power generation maintenance practices
 Strong experience knowledge of mechanical systems
 Strong experience on MAK engine rebuilds
 Excellent communication skills in French, with fluency in English being a strong asset
 Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and P&I diagrams
 Strong working knowledge of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations in Burkina Faso
 Excellent leadership and management skills with a demonstrated ability to motivate and develop a team
 Competent in asset management practices


 Valid driver's license is a requirement
