The World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. WFP is also an enabler of the broader humanitarian system, playing an active role in the Food Security, Logistics and Emergency Telecommunications Clusters and hosting the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS).
In 2012 WFP’s Executive Board adopted a policy on Humanitarian Protection that sets the programme’s role and responsibilities in relation to supporting and promoting the Protection of the people it seeks to assist through its programmes.
