Contexte et environnement
To meet its Net-Zero carbon ambitions, TotalEnergies is developing and deploying Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage (CCUS). The CCUS R&D team in the Houston Research Center contributes to this effort. The Sr. Research Scientist will work in two areas:

CO2 Capture R&D:

Both CO2 capture from point-source emitters and CO2 removal technologies such as Direct Air Capture are essential technological bricks to reduce our emissions and remove CO2 from the atmosphere. Develop low-cost highly efficient electrochemical-based CO2 capture technologies that can deploy at scale and be coupled with renewable power sources to maximize the overall Green House Gas reduction and removal.

CO2 Utilization R&D:

TotalEnergies develops solutions to convert CO2 into market-valuable products. The Company leverages its vertical integration across the value chain for products such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel, e-fuels, and sustainable polymers. Contribute to CO2 electrolyzer developments: increase its technological readiness, derisk its usage, improve its economics (efficiency, durability, stability, capex/opex). The candidate will build internal capability, and manage and contribute to intellectual property developments with partners. Provide intelligence updates on CO2 electro-conversion technologies and provide strategic and technical inputs to the CCUS R&D program roadmap.
