Knowing FAO as leading organization in rural development with Food, nutrition and agriculture safety as priority objective. In fact, trainings and experiences I hold, give me all it takes to serve in this capacity and face all the challenges of this post. Moreover, I have good knowledge of the project implementation area for having worked there for some time. I am a Senior Social Services Assistant, an Expert in Community Development and a Degree holder in Sociology. I am bilingual fluent in both French and English language and have open ear for languages, as I speak some Fulfulde equally. I am multicultural oriented, child, gender sensitive and Good social animator, very dynamic. I have a high sense of responsibility, discipline and accountability. Handling ICTs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint….) with ease.
A special experience with INADES-Formation, gave me good knowledge of agro pastoral groups. ’But over 15 years of work with national and international organization, gave me in-depth knowledge in capacity building for self-reliance and management, peaceful coexistence, Child protection, prevention of GBV; always seeking the well-being of People with Specific Need (PSN) like vulnerable girls and women, people with disabilities, elderly and more. My duties were based on improving assistance in the areas of Community Based Protection, local development and social welfare. Thus, community mobilization; Gender based violence prevention; livelihood; Resettlement and local integration were my main focus.
I worked with UNHCR as Senior Community Service Assistant in the EAST and ADAMAWA regions of Cameroon, managing the refugee sites of GADO-BADJERE, NGAM and BORGOP. Permanent Situation Reports (SitReps) to hierarchy eased decision making to manage situations at hand. I also worked at the Biometric Registration with the Protection unit, collecting data on refugees and asylum seekers and conducting interviews to assess level of vulnerability, to better protect their rights in must of their living areas in the CENTER , LITTORAL, SOUTHWEST, EAST and NORTH. Then, with Lutheran World Fellowship (LWF) as a Community Services and Peace Officer, designing strategies and implementing activities to strengthen refugees and host community’s resilience in order to reduce their dependence to humanitarian aid and government assistance. From BETARE-OYA in the East to TOUBOURO via TIBATI and MEIGANGA to BATOUA-GODOLE through NGAM and BORGOP main achievement was in partnership with the Ministries of Social Affairs (MINAS) and Agriculture …(MINADER) and other stakeholders. Managing a staff team of 30 persons, Refugee’s self-managed groups were organized and Cash Based intervention implemented through trade-fare in Cameroon. Community based psychosocial support and appeared to be an efficient strategy.
The work experience mentioned above have endowed me with the following skills project management; Results-based management; Humanitarian procedures; administrative skills; leadership skills as well as problem -solving skills. Moreover, I am open-minded, flexible and have good listening skills.
